An Aussie Viking living in the Netherlands. I'm a fully qualified and experienced personal trainer with a strong martial arts, battlesports, and rehabilitation background. I'm also a former IT nerd, quality assurance analyst, and intelligence analyst and I've worked for (and trained with) police, military, special forces, and private security. I dabble in Viking reenactment and live action role-play, but am mostly in it just for the fun 'fighting' and encouraging others to become their own heroes (and making 'functional' costumes and cracking bad jokes, 'cos it's fun! :P ).
I have a medical history the size of an encyclopedia and a neurological disability, but that never stopped me from proving myself, to myself. Under the guidance of a gifted personal trainer (RIP Darrell, my good ol' friend), a Shaolin Gong Fu Master (Ami Tofu, Sifu), a talented remedial therapist, plus a variety of other allied health professionals, I transformed my near-crippled body (and brain!) into the battle-ready force that it is today. Since then, it has been my passion to help others achieve the same and become the warriors they have always aspired to be. It's never too late!

BattleBok training focusses on practical and functional fitness. Rather than target muscles specifically, BattleBok focusses on training movements and how they can be applied to your sport, lifestyle, or other various challenges. Building muscle and burning fat are merely symptoms of your success.
Specific muscles (or isolated movements) can be selectively trained to address rehabilitation, injury prevention, or aesthetic objectives; however these exercises are personalized for each individual and typically accompany fundamental movement exercises.
Professional athletes, bodybuilders, and fitness models often boast about training up to 6 days a week, 3 to 5 hours per session. You don't have time for that; not to mention the diet and supplementation plans required to sustain such an intense training regime.
Let's get real! You have a life and responsibilities outside the gym. You need a training regime that fits in with your evolving lifestyle; something to ENHANCE your life, not encompass it.
BattleBok training is aimed at achieving as much as possible, in as little time as possible. Conversely, it acknowledges a defined minimum amount of training required to progress and make positive changes. Sustainable health and fitness journeys are always long-term and require the weaving of activities throughout one's overall lifestyle.
It is about the efficiency of the mind, as much as it is about time, energy, or money.
